Stop Popup Ads!

Are you sick of all of those annoying popup ads? I know that I am. The longer the internet is around, the more aggressive popups and other modes of advertising become. Now there are popups that appear when a website opens or closes, there are "polite ads" that are no different from the "annoying ads", there are popups that cleverly minimize themselves without the user ever suspecting they are there, and there are ads that maximize themselves to sizes larger than television screens!

We are bombarded enough when we watch over 7 minutes of ads during a 30 minute tv show, so why should we put up with more in-your-face ads while surfing the internet? I say, enough is enough with popups.

Thankfully, there are a number of ways of keeping popups under control. One way is by downloading the Alexa Toolbar. Not only does it control pop up ads, it has a built in search engine, but it lets you know who own certain websites, and how popular they are. Definitely a great way to make the internet a more pleasant experience.

Once downloaded, the Alexa Toolbar provides instant access to reviews, who's linked to a website, traffic ranking, as well as features such as news, stocks, dictionary, and thesaurus. The built-in search will allow you to type in keywords right into the toolbar, and will give you Google's results. Give this great tool a try!
